Hey all! Hope your summer is going well and you are keeping busy with all sorts of fun activities! Life around here has been a whirlwind, but I'm hoping that as this week comes to a close, it will slow down a bit...at least until we have to get ready to leave for vacation in August!
I've got a bit of randomness for you today, because I haven't the time to form a coherent thought, much less a well prepared blog post. Enjoy!
1.) It is amazing (and somewhat disappointing) how fast the hair on my legs grows. It's like the sun nourishes it the way it nourishes the plants. Seriously!!! I can scarcely make it half a day without razor-sharp stubble. I am not one of those lucky girls who has soft, blond hair on their legs. Oh no...mine is black (BLACK!?!) and coarse...grody!! I seriously think it's unfair that I am fair-skinned, fair-haired, an have baby fine hair on my head...but am stuck with this dark, stiff, yucky stuff on my legs. What's up with that?!?!
2.) We have new neighbors! Finally!!! The people who lived behind us moved out last July (to another house close by) and someone just moved into their old house. They are an older couple with no kids, and I've heard they are super nice! I'm planning to bake something to take over, but this week has been insane and I haven't had the chance. We'll see what the weekend brings. Let's hope they're good neighbors!!
3.) Have I mentioned that I love The Office lately? It is by far my favorite show, and I watch it all the time, since I have 5 seasons on DVD. (Can you say 'addict'??)
I am beyond bummed that Steve Carrell will be leaving after Season 7...I can't even talk about it, because there is no way that show will be the same without him. Absolutely NO WAY. Ok, now I'm getting depressed...let me end this topic with a classic 'Michael' quote:
"My philosophy is basically this and this is something that I live by and I always have and I always will. Don't ever, for any reason, so anything to anyone for any reason ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or, or where you are going, or, or where you've been...ever. For any reason whatsoever...Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way. Like an improv conversation. An 'improversation'."4.) I'm hungry and I don't know what to eat. This is a problem for me. :)
5.) I wonder if there's any ice cream in the freezer?
6.) I finished the perilous dusting of the beams yesterday. What a relief to have that finished!! I think I deserve some ice cream.
7.) Key lime pie sounds good too...
8.) Sometimes I feel rebellious and refuse to unload the dishwasher or make my bed. Somehow it backfires on me though, because I just end up having a bigger mess to clean up later. Is that just being rebellious to prove a point? And if so, exactly who am I rebelling against? Society's expectation of women in the home? Please discuss.
9.) My roosters are catching my rebellious rampage...they keep tearing up my flowerbeds. Rocky is the biggest instigator, and it is only the fact that he has lived through a mauling by some random animal
and the neighbor's dog that he is still alive. It seems wrong to off him when he's already cheated death twice, don't you think? But I'm telling you...if he doesn't quit tearing up my hostas and sweet peas, we're gonna have a showdown. And it won't be pretty.
Oh, who am I kidding...I'll get my gun for hire, the hubster, to do the dirty work. My name is Jen, and I'm a wuss.
10.) Mmmm...chocolate chip cookie dough sounds good, don't you think?
11.) Barry and I are trying to plan a vacation for our 15th anniversary this fall. We've kicked around lots of ideas, but a lot of them are not as desirable to us now with the oil spill going on. What a horrible tragedy
that mess is!! We are considering New England...any thoughts?! Neither of us have ever been up that way, but we're looking for some romance and serious downtime to reconnect and relax. If anyone has ideas/suggestions, please shout out!!
12.) I can't take it anymore...I have to go eat. Preferably something really tasty. That I don't have to cook. Shit, there's that rebellious streak again...I need to work on that.
Have a good day, peeps! I'm off in search of morning morsels!

Oh man...I have so much to say!! I love that you are brave enough to talk about your leg hair...another reason I'm proud to call you a friend!! LOL!! Funny thing was I was just thinking the SAME thing about my legs the other day!! I kid not!
Secondly, New England is absolutely georgous and if you want something romantic and relaxing you should look into a Bed & Breakfast in Gloucester or Rockport. If you find one..I'll drive up there and check it out for you first hand if you want! It's incredibly beautiful and only about 40 minutes from downtown Boston is you wanted a night on the town mixed in there.
Let me know if I can help ya out!
I love the Office to! But the British original is so much better!
