Ok, let me first begin by saying that I cannot comment about the National Championship game. I just have nothing to say...nothing! I can't explain or make excuses or chastise or any of that. I can't speculate on what happens next year or even what the problem was this year, or last year for that matter. Someone has to lose every game, and this one was no different. LSU just outplayed us, plain and simple. Very frustrating, for sure...so let's just leave it at that, shall we?
Secondly, I cannot BELIEVE that it is already Wednesday!!! Where did the week go? I am throwing a baby shower for my friends Brian and Christa on Sunday and have sooo much to do!!! Lucky for me I have a slow day tomorrow and then I don't work at all on Saturday. I should be able to get it all taken care of with no problems. And let me just say that their new baby is just as cute as she can be!! I stopped by to see her last night, and my goodness....I was getting baby fever, she was so sweet! I guess I'd better stay away! I've got my hands full as it is!
And check this out...this is Kendall's new self-imposed "chore":
She has taken it upon herself to be a part of Noah's bedtime routine. She informed us recently that she will read with Noah and snuggle with him at bedtime to help him get to sleep. Now, how sweet is that, I ask you? Yeah, except it isn't really working very well. Noah just wants to lay in there, flappin' his beak the entire time...but hey, it was a sweet thought!
Oh yeah, and I am selling my first "family unit" car! We bought this car when I was pregnant with Kendall because my sporty little red Honda Civic EX was just 2 doors short of what we needed. Oh how I loved that car! But alas, it was time to drive something that was actually going to work with the baby carrier. Anyway, this was my compromise. It had to be something bigger, definitely 4 doors, yet still a little sporty...and this fit the bill, for sure!
I put 160,000 miles or so on this bad boy in the time I've had it. It's getting ready to turn 200,000 soon...
I miss my remote start and my heated seats. I miss the supercharged engine (but not the speeding tickets!) and the heads-up display. Sometimes I just miss driving something other than a minivan. But it is time for the Grand Prix to go. I'm sure some high-school kid will snatch her up...she looks good, don't you think? In fact, Barry has toyed with the idea of putting a new engine in her and keeping her, we like her so much! But then again, that's just one more project for his list...the list that has 7,000 items on it already. We'll see...
As for my personal goal for the new year, it is going well. I have been having a very calm week, despite the upcoming baby shower and Kendall's birthday parties coming up. Lots of planning and work yet to do, but I've been keeping on task to stay ahead, thank goodness. I feel gentler and less anxious...and I'm really looking forward to getting into 2008! It's amazing how well those attitude adjustments work!!

"flapping his beak"...HILARIOUS!!! LOL!!!
As for your car...I don't know what to say as I am one who gets attached to big hunks of metal too...my husband just laughs at me. I think it's just part of beign a women and emotionalizing everything. I don't think it's a bad thing. See...I'm sad about your having to sell your car too now! Ah...womanhood...
:0)
That is such a sweet picture of you daughter reading to your son. I love that she wants to read to him, that is just so sweet. Then when I read the "flapping his beak", I about wet my pants from laughing!
That is just like our sons! We just put their bunks back together and they now share a room. The first few nights they talked forever! haha :)
i had a car iwth remote start once. Man I loved that.
I can't remember my kids ever volunteering to spend time together. You are very lucky that Kendall wants to read with Noah! What a sweetie.
Oh my gosh! I just don't think you have enough on your plate. You should probably try juggling flame throwers while you're planning the shower, working on your projects, taking care of kids, getting a new car...sheesh - I'm exhausted just writing this out! OK, don't juggle flame throwers with your kids, but all the others...??? Keep at it. You're doing great!
That is so precious about the book and putting him to bed. Stash that memory away for the times they are driving each other crazy.
Know what you mean about your car. I'm still in love with my '92 Saturn. Sold it to a gal at church so I still get to see the car... ahh, the good ole days.
Good luck with everything on your plate. Share any fab food ideas from your shower. I'm always looking for something new.
