Today it was about 16 degrees WITHOUT windchill in our neck of the woods...but Barry and Kendall ventured outside anyway to brave the elements all in the name of FUN. They weren't outside more than a few minutes when Kendall came running in yelling for me to come quick and to bring the camera. Check out the ginormous icicle they found! Then they headed out to the pond to check the solidity of the ice. Yep, pretty solid! Barry went out and jumped up and down as hard as he could...and no cracks. So, on with the fun! Barry put his skates on and started pulling Kendall in her sled...
and then quickly realized how long it's been since he's been on skates! He got going pretty good, pulling her, and then tried to stop and turn to swing her around....and ended up falling down! Kendall and I got quite a little laugh out of that!
After that little incident, he decided to put his boots back on so he could have a little more control. She was having a blast!
Too bad Noah was all warm and cozy, napping in his comfy little bed. Ah, but maybe tomorrow we will venture out again for just a little bit so he can partake in the winter fun as well. And who knows? Maybe I will skate too! (Although I can assure you there will be NO pictures of that!!)
Happy Winter everyone....Stay warm!!

These pics are so wonderful, I am so jealous of your winter fun...I wish that it was like that here, but Spring and Summer are our seasons and I am trying to wait patiently for them. In the meantime, I hope you will reconsider posting pics of you skating...I'm sure you will be grace personified. I however would be a mess.
Just 1 pic of you skating! Please!
OMG! That icicle is bigger than the two of them. Looks like everyone had a good time. Poor Noah missed out :(
Pictures of me skating include one of two poses - me on my knees or me on my behind.
Wow! That looks so fun! It never gets cold enough down here, for ponds to freeze over like that...I bet that was so much fun!
I've only tried Ice Skating once, and I spent more time on my bottom than on my skates! ha-ha! :)
I cant wait for summer. Cold weather is miserable. Although we don't normally have 16 degrees in the day time here though. Thank god
Crazy that it's that cold without any snow. Looks like lots of fun on the ice though
That's just the coolest thing that your ponds freeze enough to skate on!!! I'm envious ; ) Fun photos!
Being able to skate without first having to shovel! I'm jealous!
Now that looks like fun! Of course I would have to be the one in the sled being pulled...I am WAY too uncoordinated to be on skates!
That ice looks SO cool and so much fun!!! I want to play too! Ha!
**Sorry I've been not commenting much but I have been reading...every post...it's just busy around here with the upcoming move and all.
