Barry has to go to Scottsdale for a conference this weekend and guess who gets to tag along? MEEEEEEEE!!! Yeah, I know...two trips in 8 weeks!!! We have Ms. Kathy coming to stay with the kiddos over the weekend, and Mom is coming Sunday night to stay until I get home. Barry has to stay one day longer, but that's ok! So, anyway...I headed to the library last night to pick up some good reading material for the trip. Lots of flying time plus two full days to myself leaves lots of time to catch up on my reading!
So, here is what I have...
You, Staying Young by Dr. Oz & Dr. Rozien
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
The Sugar Fix...the High-Fructose Fallout That Is Making You Fat and Sick by Dr. Richard Johnson
From a Buick 8 by Stephen King
Homeplace by Beth Massie
I know the books are all very different, but you never know what I'll be in the mood for! Although, I must admit that I don't think I'll be reading the Dr. Oz book or The Sugar Fix while sitting by the pool...just not pool material, ya know? Probably on the plane. At least then I can say I learned something while I was gone!
What do you like to read on vacation?

the room service menu. . . . .
which reminds me, I tried your stuffed pepper recipe tonight - DElicious Kuckie! Seriously. They were a big hit in our house! Will ahve to add that to my recipe book. Thanks for sharing!
Lots of free time for reading sounds heavenly! If I were picking books for a mini vacation, they would probably all be chick-lit!
Oh man! I am jealous!! :0)
I am so jel!!!
I love to read People magazine from cover to cover. My favorite books right now are all about the Tudors. I am enthralled with Henry the 8th.
Kate - I always say I'm going to do room service, but I just can't do it! It always seems so ridiculous what they charge for a simple thing like a belgian waffle or a cheeseburger! Glad you liked the peppers!
Terri - I hear ya, girl. I'm not much for the trashy romance stuff though...more like Divine Secrets of the Ya -Yas!
Logzie - I'll think of you while I'm there...LOL!
Kenady- The latest People is a must . I always get it at the airport and I have to read every square inch of it as well. Bonus if there's a pic of a shirtless Matthew on the beach!!!
I got burned out on reading in college and have had a hard time going back. I can read magazines (southern living, real simple, people, bhg, etc) and short stories, but books are hard. Especially sinking that much of my precious and few free moments into something and find that I don't like it in the end. Skipping Christmas (aka Christmas with the Kranks) was one of my favorite recent reads.
this sounds heavenly! I LOVE to read.
I like the easy reads for the beach, like People Magazine or Oxygen Women's fitness mag.
But as far as books, I love David Baldacci's books. Or any kind of mystery with lots of twists and turns.
Never been much into the trashy novels either...they love each other, yet pretend to hate each other, blah blah blah...they bore me.
I hope you have a GREAT time!
I usually bring a lot of books when I travel - just like you they are a lot of different kinds. I find, however, I don't usually read them as I am trying to cram in as much people and sight seeing as possible. Have fun!
