I was so bummed this morning that we were on a Level 3 Snow Emergency, because I was supposed to be doing chair massage at the Columbus Auto Show today. This is my biggest money maker of the year, and I am not happy that I couldn't get there today. BUT, I am pretty sure I will make it tomorrow, and then absolutely next weekend...so all is not lost. I figured I better just make the best of the day!
So here we are, in the midst of our biggest snowfall of the year. How did we choose to spend this wintery day? Well, we got up and made homemade waffles with raspberry syrup and whipped cream (leftover from the hot cocoa!) , and then we played! First up was imaginative play with trucks, cars, blocks , and farm implements...Then after lunch (grilled cheese and tomato soup, Kiki!!!), we got out the play-doh and let the kids make a huge mess! Noah kept needing things "fixed", so Barry had to get in on the play-doh action...Check out the doh-doh...Kendall says he needs a haircut! We made dinner (Kenady's tilapia recipe...YUM!), and then rounded the kids up for bathtime! Since we had plenty of time and needed even MORE fun, we filled the tub with bubbles and made silly hair-do's! Having to deal with all the snow as well as all the excitement around here, Scout crashed out at the top of the stairs and didn't move for about 2 hours!
Then we made an awesome dessert (Gingerbread Pudding Cake) and sat down to watch James and the Giant Peach. Now the kiddos are in bed, and Barry and I are sitting down to watch Tommy Boy(the Holy Schnikes edition, of course!) and snuggle on the couch. See, it's not so bad being snowed in, is it???

Sounds like an awesome day filled with good food and memories.
I live where school gets canceled for a mere 3 inches of snow or sleet. What is a Level 3 Snow Emergency?
Hey Jenelle...we usually get cancelled for the same thing...but this is a much bigger storm! A Level 3 Snow Emergency is when all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one else should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roadways may be subject to arrest. ARREST!!!
Sorry, ladies...that last post was for Sky Girl, not Jenelle!!!!
Oh. Wow! I experienced that only once in my life, when we lived in Colorado Springs. They also said you could be arrested for driving. Good luck keeping the kids busy indoors!
BTW, my husband is a meteorologist and he wants to know how to the weather folks get to work to tell you about the weather?
Well, there are certain jobs that are exempt from the "arresting". Those include people who work for the news and also the utilities and things like that. Barry used to work for the local gas company, and he was exempt if they needed him (yeah, right...because it is so important to do billing in the middle of a snowstorm...)
Wow! I wouldn't even know what that much snow looks like. We get maybe an inch if we are lucky...but then again, we usually just get sleet/ice. No fun here. But hey, we were in the upper 60's yesterday, and will be in the 70's today...and they are saying we should be around 86 on Friday! Yippy! Bring on the Spring weather! :) (I much prefer spring/Summer over Fall/Winter).
BTW: I love your New Profile Pic! :)
KC - Yeah, we had this big snowstorm on Friday night/Saturday and then on Monday it was 60 degrees...and it's been pretty warm since. Now, the snow is all going away.... :0( Oh well...I'm ready for spring (and all the home improvement projects that come with it!)
